Join our Wales Member Network for its Centenary Summer Field Visit where members will travel by steam train through the Vale of Ffestiniog to Hafod Boeth forest, a privately-owned woodland managed by Tilhill Forestry.
The Ffestiniog Railway have kindly provided a steam train to transport the group along their Woodland Wanderer line to and from the forest. With over 250 hectares of diverse forest, members will walk around Hafod Boeth woodlands, considering the changes in forest management practices in Wales over the past 100 years. The walk will end with a packed lunch at Tan-y-Bwlch Station, with the option to purchase lunch at the Tea Room, before the return journey through the heart of the woodlands of Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) back to Porthmadog.
