Thursday 19 September.
5.00pm Coach departs from TreeTops Hilton or Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel.
5.30pm Registration, refreshments and networking at Village Hotel, Aberdeen.
6.00pm Welcome and Introduction.
A series of short, scene-setting talks followed by a panel and audience discussion.
7.30pm Conclusion and non-dining delegates leave.
8.00pm National Study Tour Dinner. Ends at approximately 10.30pm.
10.45pm Coach departs for TreeTops Hilton or Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel.
Friday 20 September.
8.00am Coach departs from TreeTops Hilton or Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel.
8.30am Coaches depart from Village Hotel, Aberdeen.
9.00am Arrive at Durris. Meet with Forest District Manager to discuss issues surrounding a forest estate which is a production forest of largely exotic species. However the proximity to Aberdeen creates multifunctional demands on the forest, as well as opportunities and possibilities.
11.30am Depart for Glen Tanar Estate. If necessary, transport will be provided for attendees who need to return to Aberdeen for lunchtime.
12:00pm Lunch in Aboyne Hall.
1.15pm Arrive at Glen Tanar Estate. Meet with Michael Bruce, owner of Glen Tanar Estate. Glen Tanar is a privately-owned estate and includes a National Nature Reserve, production forest and amenity forest. The estate has a diversified business portfolio with forestry, tourism, hunting and conservation.
1.30pm Tour Firmounth road circuit, Glen Tanar Estate.
3.15pm Coaches depart Glen Tanar.
4.00pm Arrive back at Village Hotel, Aberdeen and TreeTops Hilton or Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel.
